Use POWERCFG.EXE to set power management options

POWERCFG is the command-line utility (comes with Windows by default) that lets you modify your power management settings.  Your best source of help is to run POWERCFG /? From a command prompt, but here is how I put it into action:
In a batch file I called “power.bat,” I put these lines:
powercfg /setactive "Always On"
powercfg /change "Always On" /monitor-timeout-ac 0
This sets the machine’s power settings to “Always On” and sets the monitor time-out to “Never.”  I stored this on a network share and now we can run it from any workstation we need to!  By using the batch file, you don’t have to go through all that clicking around to set a machine’s power settings.  We use this setting in our labs, but you can modify the bat file to meet your needs!
