NEC IPK-II Phone with VoiceMail Card

March 17, 2014

If the VoiceMail card on your IPK-II system quits working after a power outage, there is a "fix" for it. Please note that I nor SWAEC will be held responsible for any corrupt or lost data. The information provided here is for information only. End-user assumes all risk involved.

I have no idea what the chances of corrupting the voicemail database are by following these steps, but I can tell you that for *ME,* this worked in etting my users' voicemail back online.

In the IPK/IPK-II chassis, we have a voicemail card (similar to image below). At the top of the module (mounted vertically), on the left side (side facing the rest of the system), there is a small reset button. It sits just above the set of DIP switches. I have indicated the button in the image below. I pressed the reset button for approximately 3-5 seconds and then watched the LEDs on the right side of the card. One (opposite the CF card) flashed as it read the information. Shortly, another LED near the top (marked "APP1") lit red. After about a full minute or so, the APP1 light turned green. At that point, the system was back up and running.
